How to Delete Your Account

Open Daily Hoots, go to Profile, choose "Delete parent account", enter your parent password, and confirm deletion.

This deletes the parent account from Daily Hoots and signs the device out. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Data We Delete

When you delete your account in the app, we delete data associated with the account, including:

• Parent account information, such as name and email address.
• Hootling profiles, including names, nicknames, avatar selections, PINs, ages, and preferences.
• Reading progress, quiz attempts, scores, badge progress, and app notices.
• Active login tokens and password reset tokens linked to the parent account.

Data We May Retain

We retain only a limited, non-identifying deletion record for audit and product improvement. This record does not include the parent name, email address, user ID, Hootling names, IP address, or device information. It may include the deletion date, an optional deletion reason, a summary of selected countries, and counts of deleted records.

Timing

In-app account deletion is processed immediately. Backup copies, if any, may take additional time to expire from our systems.
